Toronto Maple Leafs forward William Nylander is currently on the mend from a lower-body injury, and new reporting from morning skate is not particularly positive.

William Nylander has had his struggles this season, but for the most part, he is the best player on the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Unfortunately, for the Leafs, the forward ended up suffering an injury against the Ottawa Senators, and he has missed two games in a row because of it.
Tonight will be Nylander's third-straight game on the sidelines. The Leafs are playing the Winnipeg Jets, and despite practicing some skills this morning, he simply isn't ready to go.
This has put the Maple Leafs in a bit of a bind, as guys like Matias Maccelli and Bobby McMann are now playing on the second line with John Tavares.

Maple Leafs get bad news concerning William Nylander

According to David Alter, Leafs head coach Craig Berube delivered some bad news to the media, noting that Nylander won't even practice on Friday.
The Leafs are playing the New York Islanders on Saturday, and it does not appear as though Nylander is going to be in the lineup for that game.
Nylander has 41 points in 33 games this season, which includes 14 goals and 27 assists. This includes a gnarly goal drought that lasted almost a month of action.
With that being said, the Maple Leafs are going to have to really pull it together going forward here, especially with Chris Tanev and Dakota Joshua out.
The Leafs have dealt with these injuries all season long, and they are a big reason why the team is so far deep in the Atlantic Division standings.
For now, patience will have to be exercised with Nylander, as you never want to rush a player back from a lower-body injury.
