Toronto Maple Leafs captain Auston Matthews has been injury-prone this season, and after missing a game against the New Jersey Devils, the forward has made his status known against the Winnipeg Jets.

The Toronto Maple Leafs played one of their best games of the season on Tuesday night, as they defeated the New Jersey Devils by a score of 4-0.
It was an impressive performance, especially when you consider how the Leafs were without their captain, Auston Matthews.
Tonight, the Leafs are back in action against the Winnipeg Jets, and there have been some concerns about Matthews' playing status going into this game.
Well, at morning skate on Thursday, we officially got our answer, as the Leafs took to the ice and showed off their forward lines.

Auston Matthews returns to the Maple Leafs lineup

As you will see below, Auston Matthews is, indeed, in the lineup. He appears alongside the likes of Max Domi and Matthew Knies.
Meanwhile, the second line consists of Matias Maccelli, John Tavares, and Bobby McMann. The third line is Easton COwan, Nicolas Roy, and Nick Robertson.
Finally, the fourth line will be Steven Lorentz, Scott Laughton, and Calle Jarnkrok. The extra player is going to be Jacob Quillan.

The Maple Leafs are in a tough spot right now as they try to get themselves back into a playoff spot. Atlantic Division teams keep winning, and it's become impossible for the Leafs to keep up.
If they can't get a win against the Jets tonight, it puts them in a deep hole that is going to be difficult to get out of.
