Elliotte Friedman confirms what we already knew about Leafs GM Brad Treliving

With the Toronto Maple Leafs struggling in the early going of the season, it should come as no surprise that there have been rumors about job security.

Whether it be Craig Berube or Brad Treliving, there are some fans and analysts out there who believe these men should be fired for doing a bad job.

According to Elliotte Friedman, neither of these men will be losing their jobs, at least not any time soon. Instead, Treliving is being tasked with making some organizational overhauls.

It has been overstated how much this Maple Leafs team needs to make a trade. Whether it be a puck-moving defenseman or a top-six forward, this franchise could use an upgrade.

Well, as Friedman reported on Hockey Night in Canada, relief could be coming very soon. This is because Treliving is one of the most active general managers in the trade market right now.

Other general managers are well aware of the Leafs and their intentions right now. They are eager to make something happen and will stop at nothing to get a deal done.

It has been said that with the Olympics taking place this season, some teams are eager to make a trade before Christmas as opposed to at the deadline.

Some players could get injured while overseas, and this would completely decimate their trade value. With that in mind, it's better to make a move now rather than later.

For Toronto Maple Leafs fans, any move would be a good move at this point. The Leafs have too many passengers right now, and with the bottom-six struggling as well, perhaps other depth moves need to get made.

Ultimately, the Leafs have a lot of work to do, and with the team at the bottom of the Atlantic Division standings, it's going to take major upheaval to get this team where it needs to be.
