Craig Berube's comments about Matias Maccelli have left Brad Treliving with no choice

Toronto Maple Leafs head coach Craig Berube made some critical comments about Matias Maccelli that don't bode well for his future with the team.
Matias Maccelli is a player that the Toronto Maple Leafs were excited about when they traded for him during the Summer, knowing that they needed to replace Mitch Marner's production.
Unfortunately, he hasn't been what they were hoping for. The forward has nine points in 22 games and has been a healthy scratch for three matches in a row.
That includes tonight's game against the Carolina Hurricanes. The Leafs are on a roll, and Leafs head coach Craig Berube doesn't want to mess with the formula.
Craig Berube doesn't seem to like Matias Maccelli
While speaking to the media on Wednesday, Berube had some eye-opening comments about Maccelli and what he must do to get back into the lineup.
As you will read, it appears as though Berube is completely done with the forward. He was very blunt about his effort, which is not something we often get from Berube.
He knows he has to be better... We put him in the WSH game, and there wasn't a lot there. I thought he struggled. We won the last couple, so I'm not going to change the lineup.
Berube acknowledges that the team is winning, and as a result, he will not change the lineup. A win against the Hurricanes means we won't see Maccelli for at least another weekend.
Will Brad Treliving trade Maccelli?
Considering Berube's apparent disdain for Maccelli, it appears as though general manager Brad Treliving only has one choice right now, and that is to trade the forward.
A few weeks ago, there was a rumor that the Leafs would be trading Maccelli in a package for Rasmus Andersson, although that never came to pass.
If the Leafs won't play Maccelli, then it might be time to revisit a deal, before his value hits an all-time low.
