Toronto Maple Leafs forward Max Domi has been struggling this season, and it is forcing head coach Craig Berube into a difficult decision against the Washington Capitals.

Max Domi has been one of the worst and most inconsistent forwards on the Toronto Maple Leafs over the last couple of years, and it's not close.
At the end of the day, Domi has not been good enough. They've tried him at every position on every line, and nothing has actually worked out.
However, the one thing head coach Craig Berube hasn't done is bench the forward. Plenty of guys have received a healthy scratch, but Domi has remained exempt.
It's pretty bizarre to watch, and fans are starting to get beyond frustrated with head coach Craig Berube, who has refused to fundamentally change anything.

Max Domi on track to be a healthy scratch

Well, it seems like a change is finally coming. At practice on Thursday, Domi was replacing William Nylander, who took the day off.
However, Nylander is back tonight against the Washington Capitals. As a result, it is very likely that Domi is going to be one of the odd men out.
This is very bad news for Domi, who is also on the trade block right now. If he can't get his act together, he might just find himself without a lineup spot going forward.

Max Domi's stats are truly awful

This season, Max Domi has six points in 23 games, which puts him on pace for a total of 21-23 points this season. For a guy making $3.75 million per season, this is simply unacceptable.
The Maple Leafs didn't get much out of Domi last season either, as he had just eight goals and a total of 33 points. Sure, he shouldn't be playing center, but the fall off shouldn't be this bad.
Perhaps sitting a game out will finally let things sink in for Domi. He needs to be better, and mediocrity is no longer going to be tolerated.
