Toronto Maple Leafs goaltender Joseph Woll has played two games this season, and so far, he is already blowing fellow netminder Anthony Stolarz out of the water.

Joseph Woll took a leave of absence during training camp, which forced Anthony Stolarz into a difficult position. He had to take on a heavier workload than he was used to, and it resulted in bad stats and an injury.
Now, Woll is back, and the Maple Leafs are leaning on their goaltender. The team has struggled in the early going, and they need a netminder to steal games for them.
On Saturday, Woll made his season debut with the Maple Leafs and ended up stopping 29 out of 32 shots. He then went on to turn aside 28 out of 29 shots against the St. Louis Blues on Tuesday.

Joseph Woll or Anthony Stolarz?

In just two games, Woll has a goals-against average of 2.44 and a save percentage of .934. This is a major problem for Anthony Stolarz, who is quietly losing his status as the better of the two goalies.
Throughout 13 starts, Stolarz has a goals-against average of 3.51 and a save percentage of .884. He has also been ranked among the worst netminders in the league.
With all of this in mind, it seems clear as day that once Stolarz returns to the lineup, Woll should be the starter until Stollie shows otherwise.
The expectation is that Woll and Stolarz will simply split the time once both are healthy. It is what the team did with the goalies last season.
However, there is no denying that Stolarz's confidence is completely shaken right now, and fans are not happy about it.
The goaltender signed a large contract extension before the season, and his performance has not lived up to the deal whatsoever.
For now, we are still in the early stages of the season, so it's important not to get too upset right now. Instead, the Leafs should just calm things down.
