The Toronto Maple Leafs are one of the teams looking to do some damage at the trade deadline, and it seems like Brad Treliving has his scouts working overtime.
Toronto Maple Leafs general manager Brad Treliving has a lot of work to do these days, especially as it pertains to the trade deadline and his team making some deals.
There is a sense that the Leafs are going to be buyers at the deadline. Not to mention, some teams want to get a deal done before the Olympics.
This means the Leafs could end up doing something significant in the coming weeks. Whether it be a puck-moving defenseman or a first-line forward, the team has some options available.
In fact, Treliving is making sure his scouts get around. They recently attended a Habs game, and now, they are expanding around the league.
Toronto Maple Leafs scouts get around
A scout was present at last night's game between the Las Vegas Golden Knights and the Los Angeles Kings, which certainly piques some interest.
Of course, the Leafs are playing the Golden Knights tonight, but that is not enough for a scout to attend their game. Instead, it seems like the Leafs are interested in one of these teams' players.
At this juncture, it is still unknown who the Leafs are targeting right now. All we know is that things are about to get a lot more fun in the NHL over the coming weeks.
Not to mention, the Leafs get to play Mitch Marner tonight, which is a matchup that plenty of fans have circled on their calendars for quite some time.
It is one of those games that you absolutely have to watch, and we are excited to see how all of this ends up panning out. Leafs fans on the East Coast will have to stay up late for this one.
Beyond that, fans are excited to see what Treliving will do, and if it's going to be enough to turn this current Leafs team into a contender.
