The Toronto Maple Leafs are looking to make some deals at the NHL trade deadline, and Scott Laughton is someone the team has to take a look at.
Scott Laughton is someone whom the Toronto Maple Leafs traded a lot for, much to the chagrin of many in the Leafs fanbase.
Of course, it was a 2027 first-round pick as well as Nikita Grebenkin, who some fans found to be one of the best within the Leafs' franchise.
Now, Grebenkin is a stud for the Flyers, and Laughton is stuck on the fourth line with the Leafs, where he hasn't had much offensive production.
Going into the trade deadline, Laughton has made it clear that he would like to remain with the Leafs for the long haul and sign a new contract in the offseason.

However, according to James Mirtle and Chris Johnston the Leafs might have no choice but to trade Laughton, given his trade value.
Brandon Tanev recently fetched a second-round pick, and it is believed that Laughton could get the Maple Leafs something similar.
It makes for an interesting dilemma for the Maple Leafs, who would love to keep the hometown kid, but also must do what's best for the franchise.
This is an interesting situation for the Toronto Maple Leafs, and we're sure the fans will be torturing themselves about the team's decisions.
We know that general manager Brad Treliving is not having an easy time right now, and it is not going to get any easier anytime soon.
Overall, the trade deadline is set to take place on March 6th, and will surely be a huge moment for the team's season.
