Toronto Maple Leafs forward Nicolas Roy is currently out with an injury, and on Friday, head coach Craig Berube provided some unsavory information.
Nicolas Roy's season has been one to forget so far. Of course, he was part of the trade that sent Mitch Marner to the Las Vegas Golden Knights, so there is some resentment built in.
At the end of the day, the Leafs are lucky they got anyone in return for Marner, in the first place. Having said that, Roy still has a job to do, and with four points in 19 games, he isn't doing that job very well.
After a loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets last night, the Leafs were back on the ice today for practice, and it was hear that we got an update on Roy from Craig Berube.

According to Mark Masters of TSN, although Roy has been skating on his own, it still appears as though he is a long way from returning to the lineup.
Probably still a ways away. I got no timeline for him
This is good news for forward Jacob Quillan, who has started two games as a result of Nicolas Roy's injury. Quillan has been impressive, albeit a bit unproductive on the score sheet.
Saturday's game is against the Montreal Canadiens, and you can be sure that the Maple Leafs will be looking to win that game.
If they don't, they will only fall deeper into the depths of the Atlantic Division, which is closer than ever, despite the Leafs being seventh.
As for Roy, the Leafs are just going to have to be patient here. You don't want to rush guys back and have them be worse off as a result.
