The Toronto Maple Leafs and Edmonton Oilers are going in completely different directions right now, the Oilers are competing for a Stanley Cup while the Maple Leafs are retooling for next season, which means a lot of deals could be made before the trade deadline.

The Oilers could solve a lot of problems with Bobby McMann, Oliver Ekman-Larsson and Anthony Stolarz.

Multiple players could be moved in Maple Leafs-Oilers deal.

Spencer Lazary of NHL Trade Talk reported on the opportunity the Leafs have with the Oilers desperation to finally capture a Stanley Cup on their third try. McMann is the first and most likely option to get traded to Edmonton, he brings 20 goals and a lot of physicality, that can be used on the bottom six, and he is inexpensive.
"He already has 19 goals and carries a $1.35 million cap hit, which makes him a significant trade chip for Toronto. Edmonton is tight against the cap, so a player like McMann fits their budget. If the Maple Leafs are willing to retain a bit of salary, they could push for a high draft pick along with a quality prospect in return."-Lazary

Ekman-Larsson and Stolarz are also good options to look at. The Oilers are always in need of some depth defensemen, and goaltending has always been their achilles heel. Despite them getting Tristan Jarry, they might want a solid backup option in Stolarz.
"The most interesting name to watch might be Anthony Stolarz. Even though the Oilers added Tristan Jarry and called up Connor Ingram, their goaltending situation has still been shaky. Stolarz recently returned from injury, but he showed last season and again on Feb. 3 against Edmonton what he can bring to a crease. That game could have served as an audition."-Lazary

The Leafs can take advantage of a desperate Oilers team, and get a lot of high draft picks if they play their cards right. The tension is growing in Edmonton for a championship as they have failed two years in a row. Emotions can be always used for the others benefit.
