With the Toronto Maple Leafs in need of a right-shot defenseman, it appears as though their former player Luke Schenn has become available.

Chris Tanev is going to be out of the Maple Leafs' lineup for the foreseeable future, and it is being reported that the defenseman could be out for the rest of the season.
With that in mind, the Toronto Maple Leafs have a lot to figure out. The team very clearly needs some new defensemen, and preferably right-handed ones.
While the Leafs would love a guy with some offensive prowess, the team would also probably just love an upgrade from Philippe Myers, who has been unplayable.
There are some rentals on the market, and according to Darren Dreger, one of them is Luke Schenn, who now plays for the Winnipeg Jets.

Luke Schenn could be next for the Toronto Maple Leafs

The Leafs have a long history with Schenn, and as Dreger explains, the defenseman could be had for a lower-end draft pick, which is a low cost for the team.
I'm pretty sure if the Maple Leafs wanted to reunite Luke Schenn, they'd get him for a lower end draft pick; I think that Luke is looking for a better opportunity, bigger role
If you are the Toronto Maple Leafs, this is something you have to entertain. Schenn has played 29 games this season and has five points as well as a -5 rating.
To be fair to Schenn, the Jets have played uninspired hockey this season, and are probably looking to sell off some guys ahead of the trade deadline.
For general manager Brad Treliving, a reunion with Schenn is something that the team should absolutely be considering right about now.
Sure, he might be an aging 36-year-old, but he cannot be any worse than Myers right now.
