Toronto Maple Leafs general manager Brad Treliving continues to deal with rumblings about his job, and the Leafs fanbase isn't making things any easier.
Last night, the Toronto Maple Leafs lost to the Washington Capitals by a score of 4-2 in what was yet another horrible loss for the team.
The Maple Leafs have been having a miserable season, and a win against the Capitals could have solved a lot of problems. However, the loss ended up magnifying the truth about this team.
Overall, the defense is bad, and the offense, led by Auston Matthews, has been terrible. The team needs to make changes, and general manager Brad Treliving is being tasked with leading the charge.
However, there are rumblings that his job with the Maple Leafs is now in jeopardy, as he has been unable to surround this team with the proper talent.
Is Brad Treliving going to be fired by the Maple Leafs?
In fact, Maple Leafs fans are calling for the firings harder than they ever have before. We know this because "Fire Berube" and "Treliving" were trending on X last night.
The things fans were saying were not flattering, and it shows just how much distaste there is amongst the Leafs fanbase right now.
It has been said that Treliving is in more trouble than Craig Berube right now, although it remains to be seen whether or not that is truly the case.
The Maple Leafs need to do something, and if that means firing some executives, then so be it. For now, however, only time will tell what happens next.
The Leafs are playing the Pittsburgh Penguins tonight, and something drastic needs to be done, or the Leafs will find themselves in an even deeper hole.
Wins can fix this, but losing will only put Treliving and Berube under a more potent microscope.
