Last night, the Colorado Avalanche and the Seattle Kraken met for the first time since the 2023 Stanley Cup Playoffs and a lot of fans were wondering if Jordan Eberle would have to answer the bell for a hit he made during their first round series.

During that first round matchup, Jordan Eberle hit Andrew Cogliano into the boards from behind in Game 6, which left the Avalanche forward with two fractures in his C6 vertebrae. The NHL's Department of Player Safety decided that the hit didn't require supplemental discipline, meaning Eberle was allowed to play in a crucial Game 7 that Seattle won.

Early in the first period of Tuesday's game, Jordan Eberle was forced to answer the bell, as many had expected and wondered, after he dropped the mitts with Avalanche forward Logan O'Connor.

O'Connor got the best of Eberle in the brief tilt, landing several hard rights to the Kraken forward's head. Eventually, Eberle's jersey would be pulled over his head before the officials stepped in to break up the pair.

O'Connor's fight would go on to spark the Colorado Avalanche who walked away with a 4-1 win to stay undefeated on the season, with goaltender Alexandar Georgiev standing on his head, stopping 37 of 38 shots.
