Fans accuse the NHL of being rigged after controversial video review
There are two things no NHL fan seems to understand. 1) What the definition of goalie interference is? 2) What defines a distinct kicking motion?
Tonight during the game between the New York Rangers and Calgary Flames that was on full display. With the Flames trailing 3-2, Andrew Mangiapane snuck in behind a defender and appears to kick the puck directly into the back of the net.
Igor Shesterkin and the New York Rangers were immediately incensed and called on the referees to review the play.
After review the referees determined this goal would stand as the puck was "deflected" and not kicked. The New York crowd was furious and fans online immediately began to accuse the league and referees of rigging the game.
You be the judge, was the puck kicked or deflected?
