Tampa Bay Lightning make 2 MASSIVE 8-year signing
The Tampa Bay Lightning weren't expected to be very busy during free agency due to the salary cap situation. But that wasn't stopping the Lightning from getting to work on an 8-year extension for Mikhail Sergachev.
The Lightning acquired Sergachev previously from the Montreal Canadiens in exchange for Jonathan Drouin. Sergachev had recently changed agents to help him maximize on this contract and that's exactly what he was able to do.
Lightning General Manager, Julien BriseBois then went on to lockdown Anthony Cirelli to an 8-year contract of his own.
The Lightning are currently $6,500,000 over the cap at this time, so there will definitely be additional moves.
Update: Add Erik Cernak to that list of the 8-year club.
