Toronto Maple Leafs top prospect lands first major sponsorship
One major perk of playing for the Toronto Maple Leafs is that endorsement deals usually come pretty easily. Just last year both Noel Acciari and Ryan O'Reilly sealed endorsement deals within weeks of being members of the team. These perks add additional compensation and notoriety for the players.
Today the Toronto Maple Leafs top prospect Matthew Knies managed to get himself in on the fun. Knies took to his Instagram to share he'd partnered with Warroad Hockey Company.
Warroad Hockey is working to create a much safer environment for players by providing cut resistant equipment. Just last year the NHL saw an increase in skate related cuts. While the league refuses to implement rules about cut resistant equipment it's great to see young players supporting this movement.
