Update on Alex Ovechkin after scary injury
Alexander Ovechkin is one of the most durable players around. Ovechkin has played a full 82 game schedule on 4 different occasions and come close on a handful of other times. Last night though Ovechkin took a hard fall into the end boards and immediately began to clutch his shoulder/clavicle area.
When Ovechkin went directly to the lockerroom it was obvious he was in more than just a little pain. After the game Ovechkin's teammate, TJ Oshie provided an update on the Captain.
I've never met anyone tougher than that guy. We all hope he's fine. I just talked to him and I think he'll be all right.
Peter Laviolette also shared the following:
I haven't talked to the trainer. We'll get an evaluation on him. We'll get an evaluation and see where he's at.
But today the Capitals provided a very positive update on their Superstar.
It seems that the Capitals may have avoided a serious situation. Ovechkin was even well enough today to attend the Capitals team photo in full uniform.
