It seems Tuesday is fight night across the National Hockey League. First, we saw a battle of the heavyweights in the Eastern Conference and now the Western Conference wants to get in on the action.
This time, we take you to Edmonton where the Oilers are hosting the Montreal Canadiens and a couple of middleweights start fast and don't stop; take a look.
Forwards Sam Carrick and Michael Pezzetta drop the gloves and centre ice and start throwing punches with reckless abandon, with both landing plenty of clean shots.
Carrick has made quite the impression since being acquired by the Oilers at the trade deadline and everyone knows Pezzetta is no stranger to shedding the mitts.
After trading blows, Carrick does land a few more more punches, including an uppercut that catches Pezzetta pretty cleanly.
I don't know why fighting has seen an uptick around the NHL this season, but fights have been rather consistent since the season started. I'm not complaining, fighting has added another element of excitement to the game of hockey at a high level again.
