NHL Department of Player Safety Reveals Punishment for Tatar's High-Sticking
The New Jersey Devils found some push back in their second round series against the Carolina Hurricanes. From being outscored 11-2 in the first two games, New Jersey won Game 3 in a high scoring affair 8-4.
In the first period, with the Devils holding a 2-0 lead, Devils forward Tomas Tatar retaliates by swinging his stick at Hurricanes forward Sebastian Aho's head after he receives a cross-check.
Tatar was assessed a two-minute penalty for high sticking on the play.
The NHL's Department of Player Safety handed down it's ruling today, fining Devils forward Tatar $5,000, the maximum allowable under the CBA, for High-sticking.
Game 4 is on Tuesday at the Prudential Center in New Jersey.
