The Boston Bruins are heading into the summer on the back of a major losing skid, but after their latest loss, Head Coach Joe Sacco praised the fight in his team.

While there were promising signs for the Boston Bruins this season, much of their season has been a disaster, with the team moving some big names at the trade deadline in order to build towards the future.
That's left them with a very depleted roster on top of the injury to Charlie McAvoy, and as a result, Saturday nights 2-1 loss against the Detroit Red Wings marked eight straight defeats for the Bruins.
Many would think it's a disaster and a full blown panic inside the locker room as a result, but it was much the opposite from Joe Sacco's media availability after the game, as he praised his teams fight throughout the game.
"I liked a lot about our game tonight. I thought our compete level was high. I thought there was a lot of intensity in our game tonight.

It's unfortunate that we didn't come away with the result that we wanted. Obviously, it's frustrating. I feel for the guys, but we gave a solid effort here tonight. We just fell short."
While results don't matter much late in the season given that the Bruins are all but out of the Wild Card race in the Eastern Conference, it's the style of play this team is employing that is most promising for Sacco, who looks to lock up the permanent Head Coaching role this off-season.
"We were just ready to play tonight. Detroit obviously was ready to play. We answered the bell. We were ready to play a really tight game both ways."

Ultimately, not much is expected in Boston after the trades of Brad Marchand, Charlie Coyle and Trent Frederic among others at the deadline, but if they can continue playing well and fighting hard, it bodes well for their future beyond 2024/25.
