Sportsnet insider Elliotte Friedman was scrolling social media on Saturday night, and accidentally shared a meme that was a bit too raunchy for his standards.

Elliotte Friedman is one of the biggest names in hockey journalism, as he always seems to be the first one on breaking news and trades.
He has built up an impressive reputation, which is exactly why executives and players are quick to trust him with sensitive information.
Having said that, Friedman spends a lot of time on social media. Places like X can be detrimental to your career, as there are a lot of pathways to making a big mistake.
For instance, you can accidentally retweet something or like something without even realizing it. It happens more often than you think, and it happened to Elliotte Friedman.

Elliotte Friedman backtracks

On Saturday night, fans got a notification that Friedman had shared something. When fans realized what he had shared, there was a lot of confusion.
Friedman was made aware of his mistake and told his followers that it was an accident and that he hadn't even realized it happened.

What was the meme? Well, it was a picture of a baby fallen over in a high chair, with a vulgar caption which is actually pretty humorous.
Most fans actually thought it was funny and that there was no reason for Friedman to apologize. However, it's clear he just wanted to be cautious on this one.
In a world where social media outrage can be a career killer, it only makes sense that Friedman would want to completely squash any sort of bad faith attacks.
