Former Toronto Maple Leafs forward Mitch Marner is not well-liked in Toronto these days, although it seems like the Las Vegas Golden Knights star is less relevant now.

Mitch Marner has been solid for the Las Vegas Golden Knights this season as he has managed a total of 46 points in 44 games, which isn't too shabby.
While this isn't his pace with the Maple Leafs from last season, it is certainly an admirable showing from the forward, who is looking to win a Stanley Cup.
At the start of the season, there is no denying that Maple Leafs fans were very worried about Marner's departure, especially with the team playing poorly.
However, the Leafs are now on top of their game, and Marner has become an afterthought, even with the Las Vegas Golden Knights coming up on Thursday.

Mitch Marner not as relevant in Toronto anymore

According to the analysts on TSN 1050 "OverDrive," Marner's relevance in Toronto could not be any lower these days. In fact, it was said that Marner had "faded" in the market.
This is a harsh assessment, but it is true. It has been a long while since anyone really mentioned Marner as someone who could help this Leafs team.
Guys like Nick Robertson, Nicolas Roy, Matias Maccelli, and even Max Domi have all stepped their game up over these past few weeks.
It has led to a world in which Marner simply isn't as relevant as he used to be, and this has been a huge revelation for the Maple Leafs, who want to keep winning.
That said, Thursday night is going to be interesting, especially with the Leafs taking on their former player in Las Vegas. Meanwhile, Marner returns to Toronto next Friday.
If the Leafs can get the better of the Golden Knights in both of these games, then perhaps it will become clear whether or not Marner made the wrong decision.
