Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Brandon Carlo and goaltender Anthony Stolarz have been out with long-term injuries, but now, there is some clarity.
The Toronto Maple Leafs have been ravaged by injury this season, and some of their best players have had to miss time as a result.
For instance, Brandon Carlo and Anthony Stolarz have had to deal with long-term injuries. Carlo's injury has been lower-body, while Stolarz is upper-body.
Both players are at opposite ends of recovery. Carlo is ramping up his on-ice activity, while Stolarz is barely getting back on the ice.
Today, the team offered updates on both stars, and as it turns out, good things are on the horizon for the Maple Leafs right about now.
Brandon Carlo and Anthony Stolarz updates
According to reporter Anna Dua, Anthony Stolarz is back on the ice and was getting some reps in with Dakota Mermis. However, he is still out indefinitely.
Meanwhile, Carlo was seen practicing with Morgan Rielly today, and it is believed that the defenseman could play tomorrow night against the Florida Panthers.
If the Leafs get Carlo back against the Florida Panthers, then there is a realistic path for them to win that game, and do it with pride.
Carlo has been a solid defenseman for the team, and he certainly provides the team with some stability on the blue line, with other injuries presenting themselves.
For instance, the Jake McCabe news is particularly bad for the Maple Leafs, who have benefited greatly from his +26 rating.
It's going to be a good game, and one that might just put the Maple Leafs within just one win of a playoff spot.
