Toronto Maple Leafs head coach Craig Berube has a lot to deal with right now, and on top of his team losing, he also has to continue addressing the Toronto media.
Craig Berube's Toronto Maple Leafs are struggling right now, and it feels like there is no light at the end of the tunnel, especially after a bad loss to the Montreal Canadiens.
The Leafs are now last place in the Eastern Conference, and with a rough road trip coming up, it feels as though the sky is falling, and the world is caving in on itself.
Craig Berube is frustrated with the Toronto Maple Leafs
On Monday, the Leafs held a practice two days before their matchup against the Columbus Blue Jackets. It was hear where Berube was subjected to a media scrum.
As you will see in the clip below, the head coach does not look very happy right now, and his frustrations are setting in to the point where he cannot hide them.
My tone goes up and down, you know. It's like everybody's frustrated and all this. But, you know, my job as a coach is to put them in the right direction, lead them.
And that's what I do. And sometimes my tone is not fun, but that's part of it all. And you've got to keep teaching, keep working, just keep, you know, finding-how do I put it-little adjustments we can make to help our team.
The Leafs have lost seven of their last eight, and there is no denying that the season has reached a panic stage where wins are more important than ever.
Will Craig Berube be fired?
There has been a lot of chatter about whether or not Craig Berube will be fired by general manager Brad Treliving. However, during a press conference last week, Treliving confirmed that Berube's job is safe.
Of course, if the Maple Leafs keep losing, that could change very soon. If he loses the locker room, then the Leafs will have no choice but to make an incredibly difficult yet understandable decision.
At this point in time, there is no telling what will happen next. All we know is that things are trending in an untenable direction.
