Toronto Maple Leafs fans are yearning for the return of Sheldon Keefe & Kyle Dubas

Last season, every single Toronto Maple Leafs fan loved Craig Berube, with just a couple of exceptions. Overall, the head coach got the team to win the Atlantic Division, which was seen as a major moral victory.

Furthermore, he took them deep-ish into the playoffs, and the team seemed to be thriving. Then Mitch Marner left and everything went South.

Now, the team is 8-8-2 and is in seventh place in the Atlantic Division. It is a pretty pathetic ordeal, and there is no telling whether or not this team is going to be able to fix things.

That said, there are some fans on social media who are completely jumping off the deep end and wishing for the days of Sheldon Keefe and Kyle Dubas.

During the Dubas and Keefe years, the Leafs were a lot more fun to watch, so it is easy to see why people would feel that way.

Having said all of this, it is very unlikely that Treliving and Berube have their jobs in jeopardy. At the end of the day, we are only 18 games into the NHL season.

If things continue to get worse, then perhaps the Maple Leafs will make a move. But until then, they have to stay the course.

With that in mind, it is true that Craig Berube needs to have his team play better on offense. Otherwise, they won't go very far.

Only time will tell whether or not the Maple Leafs finally get back to last year's standards, or if they are doomed.
