The NHL will investigate a controversy surrounding a pre-game warmup incident in last night's game between the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Ottawa Senators.
Now, the Leafs are in a position to sweep the Senators and become the first team to clinch their ticket to the second round of the playoffs.

Simon Benoit scored the game-winning goal, the most important goal of his career, as he said in his post-game comments:
According to a new report, the League will investigate an incident that occurred in the pre-game warmups.
Pre-game warmup shenanigans occurred in the Battle of Ontario, per Darren Dreger
Not many details have been released yet, but according to a statement from Darren Dreger posted on X, the League is looking at an incident that went down during the warmups in the third game between the Leafs and the Sens.
He added that it's unclear if disciplinary measures will be taken.
An official update from the NHL should be posted before the start of the next game, and with it, details of what actually went down are expected.
Depending on what did happen, fines or suspensions could be handed down, which could have an impact on the Sens and/or the Leafs for the fourth game of the series.

"I mean, this obviously isn't the situation we drew up, but make it the hardest of them all. I've been saying this a lot, it's not too long ago that I watched the Red Sox versus Yankees documentary when they came back from 0-3. So, it's been done before, and I have the belief that it can be done again." - Brady Tkachuk
