David Kampf speaks out upon his return to Toronto

Vancouver Canucks forward David Kampf has some history with the Toronto Maple Leafs, and tonight, he returns to the city for the first time since his departure.
David Kampf was unable to get a spot on the Toronto Maple Leafs this season, which led to him being demoted to the Toronto Marlies.
In the end, Kampf didn't like this arrangement, and he held out from playing, until he and the Leafs agreed to terminate his contract.
Eventually, Kampf signed with the Vancouver Canucks, where he has played 22 games, and has only managed a total of three points.
Despite the lack of production, he has been able to remain in the lineup. Tonight, he returns to Toronto to take on the Maple Leafs.

While speaking to reporters, Kampf was asked about his decision to leave Toronto, although he wasn't too keen on giving many details.
I don't want to talk about it too much, but I just make decisions about what I did and I think I'm happy about my decision and I'm here and I'm moving forward
Leafs head coach Craig Berube was asked about Kampf and his departure, which led to an extremely diplomatic answer.
It's great for him. You know, like we all like Kampfer here a lot. He was here for quite some time, and, you know, it's tough. Again, there are decisions that have to be made. But I'm glad he's back playing.
At the end of the day, the Leafs are better off without Kampf, who doesn't seem to contribute very much offense anymore.
With the Canucks playing the Maple Leafs tonight, Kampf will surely be motivated. Whether or not that motivation results in production, remains to be seen.
