Toronto Maple Leafs general manager Brad Treliving has a lot to worry about right now, especially with the recent situation involving defenseman Chris Tanev.
Chris Tanev is in need of surgery and is very likely to miss the rest of the NHL regular season, which is certainly some bad news for the Toronto Maple Leafs.
He is someone who has been a huge help to their defensive core, and if it weren't for Tanev, the team wouldn't have been as successful as they were last season.
Without Taven on the roster, this team certainly has some holes, and there are those who feel as though the Leafs must take some action to fix the situation.
The man responsible for improving this roster is going to be general manager Brad Treliving, who is eager to get some deals done going forward.

According to David Pangotta of The Fourth Period, the Leafs have made it clear that they want to add a defenseman at the trade deadline, or before.
Chris Tanev's season is probably over; for the regular season anyways; they're gonna look to see if they can make an addition on that back end
Thankfully, for the Leafs, there are a couple of options who are available to them right now, which makes things a lot easier going into the deadline.
Who is available for the Leafs?
The two defenseman available are Rasmus Andersson of the Calgary Flames, and Dougie Hamilton of the New Jersey Devils. If you were to ask us, we believe Hamilton makes the most sense.
Having said that, the Maple Leafs have to consider all of their options here, especially since this next stretch of the season won't be easy.
Whatever the case may be, we do not envy the position that general manager Brad Treliving is in right now.
