Mitch Marner's incredible gesture towards Joe Bowen has Leafs Nation showing respect

Las Vegas Golden Knights forward Mitch Marner paid homage to the legendary Joe Bowen on Friday night, and it was appreciated by the Leafs fanbase.
Last night was huge for Mitch Marner and the Toronto Maple Leafs, as the forward made his grand return to the city for the first time since leaving in June.
Overall, it was an emotional night. Fans booed when he came on the ice, but they also cheered when his tribute video was played.
The forward eventually went on the ice and saluted the crowd in what was a truly nice moment. One of those things that helps warm the heart.
Mitch Marner shows love to Joe Bowen
In fact, when Marner went to the middle of the ice to acknowledge the fans, he ended up saluting one man in particular, and that was broadcaster Joe Bowen.
Bowen is going to retire at the end of this year, and it is clear that Marner's little gesture has warmed his heart quite a bit.
Bowen even spoke about the gesture on social media, noting that it meant a lot for Marner to do something like that.

In the end, Marner got the better of the Maple Leafs as the Golden Knights won by a score of 6-3. It was not a great evening for the Leafs as a whole.
Having said all that, it will be interesting to see what the Leafs are able to do going forward, and if they can get themselves back to where they need to be.
If not, this is going to be a long final stretch to the NHL season.
