Things were already pretty rough, and then all hell broke loose. A game in the Slovak Extraliga erupted in chaos Friday, and ended with a player getting stretchered off the ice.
It all started when two players from Bratislava and Poprad started to fight. At first, the officials and all other players on the ice stepped aside and let the to go at it. However, before that fight was over, things started to get heated again, and a scrum breaks out. Then, Tomas Zaborsky of Poprad, a former 5th round draft pick of the New York Rangers who never made it to the NHL, gets body slammed to the ice hard. He appears to hit his head, or perhaps more accurately his face, on the ice and is knocked out immediately. Here's the slam.
The next video, the second of the two, shows the whole thing from start to finish. It begins with the initial fight and ends with Zaborsky being stretchered off the ice.
