The Toronto Maple Leafs got completely dominated by the Utah Mammoth last night, and for Dennis Hildeby, it was an incredibly difficult start.
After a win against the Colorado Avalanche on Monday night, the Toronto Maple Leafs felt as though they were completely on top of the world, and for good reason.
However, it feels as though those feelings have taken a major backseat following a 6-1 loss against the Utah Mammoth. Quite frankly, it is a loss you could see coming from a mile away.
At the end of the day, the Leafs were jetlagged, and Monday night's win was an emotional high that is incredibly difficult to crawl back from.
Having said that, Dennis Hildeby got completely bombarded with shots, 41 to be exact. He stopped 35 of those, and you can tell it was a tough one for him.

After the game, the media asked Berube about his netminder and whether or not he feels like Hildeby should be shouldering any sort of blame for the loss.
Berube was adamant that this was not on Hildeby whatsoever. Instead, this is one of those losses where you have to look at the team and be extremely honest.
I don't put the blame on him, this was a team loss
After this performance, Hildeby now has a goals-against average of 2.97 and a save percentage of .911. Quite frankly, he is a lot better than these numbers suggest.
Having said that, the Leafs now need to look forward to Thursday, which is an incredibly important game as the Maple Leafs look to defeat the Las Vegas Golden Knights.
Of course, this is the Leafs' first game against the Golden Knights since Mitch Marner left the team. Now, both sides can attempt to prove who is better off.
