The Chicago Blackhawks have been busy this off-season acquiring veteran players to play with the next young superstar of the NHL Connor Bedard.

First they acquired and signed 35 year old Nick Foligno to one a year $4 million deal after he was traded to Chicago from the Boston Bruins earlier this week.

General Manager Kyle Davidson has added another veteran and appears to have locked him up.

According to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman, Chicago and newly acquired forward Corey Perry have agreed to a one-year deal in the $4 million range range similar to Foligno's cap hit. Perry was for acquired for a seventh-round pick in next year's draft

This will be Perry's fourth team in five years after spending his first 14 seasons with the Anaheim Ducks. He won the Stanley Cup with the Ducks in 2007 and has reached the Cup Final three times in the past four years, losing each time with Dallas (2020), Montreal (2021) and Tampa Bay (2022).

The 38 year old is receiving a significant bump in salary compared to previous years. Perry just finished a 2 year, $2,000,000 contract with the Tampa Bay Lightning.
