Las Vegas Golden Knight star Mitch Marner is going back up against the Toronto Maple Leafs on Thursday, and there is no doubt that fans will be tuned in for it.

Mitch Marner and the Toronto Maple Leafs had a messy divorce in the Summer, as the forward opted to go to the Las Vegas Golden Knights.
To this day, fans are still upset with Marner for this decision, and it is very easy to see why. He was supposed to be the team's next great superstar, next to Auston Matthews.
Instead, he is now looking to win a Stanley Cup in Las Vegas, and the jury is still very much out on whether that will be possible for the forward.

Mitch Marner and the Toronto Maple Leafs

On Thursday night, the Leafs are coming to Las Vegas for a major matchup. Eight days later, Marner will be returning to Toronto, and there is no denying that it will be a major event.
Recently, Jonas Siegel of The Athletic sat down with Marner to discuss his time in Las Vegas and whether or not he likes it. This then led to a question about whether or not Marner cheers for the Leafs these days.
I don't root for any team other than my own. I'm only rooting for my team. That's who I want to win.
If you were expecting some sort of heartwarming answer, you are certainly disappointed after seeing Marner essentially poo-poo all over that.
Regardless, you can't blame the guy for feeling this way. At the end of the day, he needs to show loyalty to his new teammates by any means possible.
It would come across as disingenuous for him to play for the Golden Knights and say that he wants to see the Maple Leafs win. That wouldn't be realistic.
Either way, Thursday night is going to be a lot of fun, and we know that the fans will be tuned in.
